Meet Rashida Jones-Aiken

Storyteller. Author. Creative Producer. Publisher.

Rashida Jones-Aiken is the Founder of Kiren House Publishing, but long before becoming a publisher, she understood the importance of story through the many roles that have shaped her life, as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt.

Family, legacy, connection, and the stories passed from one generation to the next have deeply influenced both the woman she is and the work she creates. Those experiences have given Rashida an appreciation for the fact that behind every manuscript is a person, a history, a dream, and often a story that has been waiting years to be told.

Professionally, Rashida's background spans media, broadcasting, advertising, content creation, and creative production. Throughout her career, she has worked behind the scenes helping ideas move from concept to audience, a perspective that eventually became invaluable when she stepped into the world of authorship and publishing herself.

While writing and independently publishing The Rhythm That Remained, Rashida experienced firsthand everything that happens beyond writing a manuscript: developmental decisions, editing, book design, publishing platforms, distribution, branding, marketing, and launch strategy.

But the book represented something even deeper.

Her own experiences with family, love, loss, memory, and legacy reminded her that stories can do more than entertain. They can preserve a life, honor a family, document a journey, create understanding, and leave something meaningful behind for the next generation.

That understanding became part of the foundation of Kiren House Publishing.

Today, Rashida and her team bring together their personal appreciation for storytelling with her professional experience in media, production, and strategy to help authors move from:

“I have a story” to “I have a published work I’m proud of.”
